End User License Agreement
Last updated: July 2026
This is the agreement between you and SitesMark ("we") for the SitesMark desktop software. It's written in plain English on purpose. By installing or using the software, you agree to it.
1. Your license
When you buy SitesMark, we grant you a lifetime, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the software on up to 3 devices that you own or control. This is a license for you (or, if bought by a business, for one person at a time per license). It is not a subscription — there are no recurring fees.
2. Trial and free viewer
The 7-day trial gives you the full product. When the trial ends, the software becomes a free viewer: you can keep opening, reading, and printing your files forever. Editing features require a purchased license. The software never holds your files hostage.
3. Updates
Your license includes free updates for all of v1.x. A future major version (v2) may be a separate purchase — if so, you keep the version you bought, working, forever.
4. Refunds
If SitesMark isn't for you, email us within 14 days of purchase and we'll refund you in full.
5. What you can't do
- Resell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the software or your license key.
- Share one license across more people than it's sold for.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the software or its licensing, except where the law says we can't stop you.
- Use the software to break the law.
6. AI features use your accounts
The optional AI assistant connects to Anthropic using an API key you supply. Your use of that service is between you and Anthropic, under their terms. You're responsible for the API costs you incur and for what you choose to send.
7. Ownership
We keep ownership of the software; you own your license and, obviously, your documents.
8. No warranty
The software is provided "as is." We work hard to make it reliable — we run our own companies on it — but we can't promise it's free of bugs or fit for any particular purpose, and we disclaim implied warranties to the extent the law allows. Keep backups of important documents.
9. Limit of liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to the software is capped at what you paid for it, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages (like lost profits or lost data).
10. Termination
This license ends automatically if you materially breach it (for example, by redistributing license keys). Otherwise it's yours for good.
11. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
